I started my first business, braided hair, worked jobs from retail to amusement parks to swim instruction, each one teaching me independence and resilience.

At The Ohio State, I studied industrial and systems engineering while leading the National Society of Black Engineers to historic growth, expanding membership to 35,000+ and raising $90K in fundraising. I also helped grow the African American Heritage Festival to eight days, blending technical rigor with cultural stewardship. My early career included engineering roles where I contributed to the first‑ever decommissioning of a nuclear aircraft carrier, built models and simulations, and was responsible for efficiencies of manufacturing cells of large-scale products. Graduate studies at George Washington University and USC expanded my expertise, while international travel and manufacturing innovation landed me at the door of tech commercialization. Meanwhile, love gained and love lost helped shape a more convicted, empowered version of me.
